Why Are Cryptocurrencies Down?

Watch

Dan Passarelli, CEO - Market Taker Mentoring

The question I've been asked a lot lately is: Why are cryptocurrencies down?

Well, there are 3 factors that are currently causing falling crypto prices. Everything from bitcoin to ethereum to solana to dogecoin is down more than 50%. Journalists are saying we might see another crypto winter like we saw a couple years ago. Why?

Interest rates, Web 3.0 and energy prices affect cryptos. In this video I explain why.

Earnings Trading: Trade Volatility NOT Stock Direction

Watch

Dan Passarelli, CEO - Market Taker Mentoring

Many traders tell me it's impossible to guess the direction a stock will trade following its earnings announcement. And to that I say: I agree! That's why I made this video... Earnings Trading: Trade Volatility NOT Stock Direction. Traders can position themselves for an implied volatility move or realized volatility move, effectively making the stock direction irrelevant. It's a matter of seeing if the volatility priced into the options is overpriced or under priced.

How Short Squeezes Are Affected by the Broad Market [BYND and BBBY]

Watch

Dan Passarelli, CEO - Market Taker Mentoring

Many people falsely believe that if the overall market is down, no stock can be up 10% or more that day. When it comes to short squeeze candidates, that's all wrong. In this video, Dan Passarelli will share how short squeezes are affected by the broad market [BYND and BBBY] were some of the stocks that proved that today.

There is some correlation, even among short squeeze stocks to the S&P500. But these sorts of stocks are different animals. If there is enough option trading pressure, when the options volume exceeds open interest, it could signal that that's where a lot of money supply is pouring in.

Ford Motor Company Stock Up... Here's Why

Watch

Dan Passarelli, CEO - Market Taker Mentoring

Today, despite tech stocks getting hit hard, there was a non-traditional tech stock that was up big. We saw Ford Motor Company stock up... Here's why.

Following in the footsteps of Tesla (TSLA), Ford is getting bigger into the electric vehicle or EV market. They announced today that they will nearly double production of their Ford F-150 Electric Trucks.

When we see the huge moves other EV makers have enjoyed, this is exciting for this traditional car company.

How to Trade Using RSI (Relative Strength Index)

Watch

Dan Passarelli, CEO - Market Taker Mentoring

In this video I explain how to trade using RSI [Relative Strength Index]. This index was created by J Welles Wilder as a way to discover whether a stock is overbought or oversold and primed for a reversal. What does the RSI measure? It measures the strength of up candles vs the strength of down candles over a certain period of time.

There are several trading techniques one can use with RSI. First, when the index is above 70, it's thought to be an overbought stock. When it's below 30, it's thought to be oversold.

We can also look at divergences, which is when the highs or lows on the stock chart are different than the highs and lows of the index. If the stock has a higher high, but the RSI has a lower high, that would be a bearish divergence.

Taking Profits Using Any Options Strategy

Watch

Dan Passarelli, CEO - Market Taker Mentoring

I'm a big fan of disciplined trade management. One of the ways I accomplish that is to use certain option order types. I use good till canceled limit orders for taking profits using any options strategy I ever trade.

If I'm trading momentum, like when I trade our short squeeze system, I trade with limit orders to set my profit target. If I'm trading earnings trades, same thing. Even with options credit spreads. It doesn't matter what the option strategy is. This is one constant in any trading.

Setting my profit target from the beginning helps me stay a more disciplined trader.
